About the role

Description

As a Medical Scribe, you will work closely with our urologist to document patient encounters in real time, ensuring accurate and detailed medical records. Your role is crucial in improving the efficiency and quality of patient care by allowing the physician to focus on clinical tasks. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in medicine, particularly urology, who are considering a career in healthcare.


  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately document patient encounters, including medical histories, physical exams, assessments, and treatment plans in the      electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Assist the urologist during patient examinations by recording dictated notes and completing necessary documentation.
  • Ensure that all documentation meets medical and legal requirements and adheres to the clinic's standards.
  • Prepare and manage medical documentation for procedures, tests, and follow-up care.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure that all patient records are up-to-date and accurately reflect the patient's current condition.
  • Manage patient charts and ensure the timely and accurate completion of all medical documentation.
  • Review and update patient records with new information as provided by the urologist, including lab results, imaging studies, and other relevant data.
  • Support the urologist in administrative tasks, such as writing referrals, letters, and other clinical documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned to support the practice.

Requirements

  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience as a medical scribe or in a healthcare setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, particularly in the field of urology.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
