Job Title: VP of BD, Homeland Security

We are seeking a highly motivated Business Development Executive to lead growth efforts within the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) account. This individual will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, and capturing new business opportunities, building strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth aligned with Alpha Omega’s federal strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Account Ownership: Serve as the primary BD lead for the USCG account, managing pipeline development and capture strategies.
- Opportunity Identification: Research and identify new business opportunities within USCG, including IT modernization, cybersecurity, and emerging technology initiatives.
- Capture Management: Develop and execute capture plans, win strategies, and teaming approaches for USCG opportunities.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with USCG stakeholders, industry partners, and teaming collaborators.
- Proposal Support: Collaborate with proposal teams to develop compliant, compelling proposals that align with USCG requirements.
- Market Intelligence: Monitor USCG procurement trends, budgets, and priorities; provide insights to leadership for strategic planning.
- Revenue Targets: Drive pipeline growth to meet or exceed annual revenue goals for the USCG account.
- Representation: Attend USCG-related industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to promote Alpha Omega’s capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
Experience/Skills:
- Federal Client requires US citizenship.
- 8+ years of federal business development experience, with at least 3+ years focused on DHS or USCG.
- Proven track record of winning large federal contracts (preferably $100M+).
- Strong understanding of USCG mission areas, acquisition processes, and contracting vehicles.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) and pipeline management best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Existing relationships with USCG program offices and contracting officers.
- Experience with GWACs, BPAs, and IDIQ vehicles relevant to DHS/USCG.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI/ML, cloud modernization, and cybersecurity.
KPIs & Performance Metrics:
- Pipeline Coverage: Maintain 3–5x coverage of annual revenue target.
- Win Rate: Achieve a minimum 20% win rate on qualified opportunities.
- Capture Plan Execution: 100% of priority opportunities have documented capture plans.
- Client Engagement: Minimum of 2–3 meaningful client interactions per week.
- Proposal Contribution: Active involvement in all major proposals for USCG opportunities.
Salary and Benefit Information:
The likely salary range for this position is $ 170,500 - $200,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
