A Day in the Life

In this role, you will be a key member of Medtronic’s center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) team and report to the ISM Ops Network leader. This global project-based role allows you to partner with stakeholders across many functions, regions, and businesses to drive value. You will be assigned specific manufacturing sites and will have direct responsibility for identifying, initiating, and executing improvement projects that reduce spend and generate value within the MRO category. You will partner with the center-led category management teams to implement pan-Medtronic procurement strategies and provide critical input to drive future strategies.

As the Sr Strategic Sourcing Specialist-MRO & Operations Category Management, you will:

• Identify, lead, and execute projects that deliver economic value to the global Operations Networks.

• Engage and influence stakeholders; Medtronic is a highly matrixed organization, and having the ability to influence and leverage the matrix

• Partner closely with the center-led category managers to understand and implement key pan-Medtronic strategies

• Represent and share network and site-specific requirements and strategies with the center-led category management organization.

• Partner closely with key functions that support supply management (e.g., legal, finance, quality/compliance)

• Ensure that manufacturing sites are being adequately supported; this includes but is not limited to consistent engagement with key stakeholders, developing and sharing dashboards with information on key metrics at a defined cadence, conducting site-level diagnostics and leading workshops to identify savings opportunities, managing supplier quality, and ensuring supply continuity.

• Educate on key indirect supply management initiatives and policies.

• Develop robust data gathering and data quality maintenance protocols to ensure spend transparency and support the development of a baseline for sourcing cost reduction efforts.

• Initiate and implement appropriate category strategy changes.

• Create and establish internal and external benchmark analysis, including gap analysis, and required actions to achieve functional advantage.

• Lead supplier negotiation efforts

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
 

• Bachelor's degree required

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant strategic sourcing experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant strategic sourcing experience

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, information systems, business discipline, plus 5+ years of work experience in strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, operat
