The Hach Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) & Facilities Manager is responsible for fostering a proactive culture and program in environmental, health, safety and sustainability to ensure compliance, continuous improvement, and maintenance of the facility.

This position is part of the EHS Team and will lead the EHS and Facilities team on-site in Romeoville, IL.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Attend daily leadership team meetings as a member of the leadership team.

  • Respond to and investigate hazard observations, near miss, and incidents/injuries (including coordination of Worker’s Compensation process).

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance and improve EHS culture, playbook score, and other KPI’s.

  • Lead and develop EHS Coordinator, facilities technicians, safety committee, and spill/med team members and provide general education to all employees.

  • Coordinate with landlord and site team to ensure the facility operates effectively.

Essential requirements of the job include:

  • Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree with 5 or more years’ experience in managing EHS, or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

  • Strong, positive leadership, communication, and relationship building skills with the ability to influence and drive continuous improvement at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in time, project, and associate management.

  • Experience handling worker’s compensation process.

  • EHS data management (Benchmark Gensuite) and business systems software (Agile, ComplianceWire) experience preferred.

  • Experience with ISO 14001 and 45001 preferred.
