About the role

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Sr. Business Aligned Finance Analyst responsible for supporting the Lending Business within Wealth & Investment Management. In this role you will be responsible for the direct line of business support, providing financial and economic analysis, forecasting and evaluating trends in sales, finance, and other areas of the business. Responsibilities include ensuring adequacy of controls, profit and loss reporting, balance sheet reporting, reconciliations, and more for a specific business unit, division, or products that influence business decisions and strategic outcomes.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead or participate in moderately complex initiatives as a technical professional
  • Provide a broad expertise and unique skills used to develop company objectives and standards for a specific business unit, division, or product
  • Review and analyze moderately complex data that contributes to large scale planning such as economic research in support of management decision making for a specific business unit, division, or product
  • Research key forecasting projections as well as management of financial reporting to support monthly and quarterly forecasting
  • Perform work on significant and unique issues involving data and evaluation or highly complex situations
  • Develop strategies and make recommendations for forward financial planning in support of line of business goals
  • Lead the implementation of moderately complex projects impacting one or more lines of business
  • Establish effective and efficient reporting delivery that meets brand standard and internal control standards
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers in finance and in a given line of business to resolve issues and achieve goals
  • Exercise independent judgment while leveraging a solid understanding of the knowledge policies, procedures, and compliance requirements within the function


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Experience supporting wealth, consumer (mortgage) or commercial lending businesses in financial services
  • Strong financial analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience assessing and analyzing large data sets and transforming into actionable insights
  • Proven experience as a trusted advisor to senior leaders influencing portfolio strategy, transparency, capacity gaps, and business outcomes
  • Ability to synthesize data, work with ambiguity and make recommendations to leaders
  • Embrace change in a manner that mitigates risk and organizational confusion
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to coherently present complex financial topics tailored to all audience.
  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
  • Familiarity with enterprise planning and reporting systems like Apptio, Essbase, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and emerging AI technologies (CoPilot, Power Apps, etc.)
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and complex data analysis

  • This position offers a hybrid work schedule from our Charlotte, NC location.
  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
