In this exciting Manufacturing Technician role, you will be part of the dedicated, experienced, and high-performing Technician team at the Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) in Brooklyn Center, MN. At this facility, we design, develop, and manufacture components used in Medtronic medical devices. In this role you will gain experience with advanced manufacturing processes and equipment, supporting the manufacturing of components for medical devices such as pacemakers, neurostimulators, and deep-brain stimulators. You will be a key member of the operations team supporting the Connectors operation team, ensuring optimal equipment performance to support daily production as well as driving improvements to support manufacturing stability. 

This is an onsite, 2nd shift position.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Devises, fabricates, installs, tests, and repairs mechanical equipment and systems involving the movement of physical components in the manufacturing area.
  • Assisting engineers with developing technical solutions related to the operation and performance of devices and systems.
  • Installs, repairs, and upgrades components of mechanical devices and systems in the manufacturing area.
  • Devises, fabricates, and assembles new or modified mechanical components for machinery and equipment.
  • Conducts quality assurance/control tests and procedures.

Nice to Have

  • Associate's degree, or vocational or technical education, or relevant certification
  • Experience working in a regulated industry
  • Knowledge of navigating quality systems
  • Experience in medical product manufacturing / assembly operations
  • Mechanical and electrical print reading skills for use in diagnosing and correcting equipment/tooling issues
  • Experience with processes such as injection molding, mechanical assembly, soldering, and inspection
  • Experience working in FDA & ISO 13485 regulated industry
  • Knowledge of PLC programming
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Able to respond to changing priority requests. Multi-tasking is an essential part of the position
  • Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, computer repair and logic)

TECHNICIAN SUPPORT CAREER STREAM: Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.
