What You'll Do:
As a Facilities Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving technical and operational aspects of plant utilities and facilities. This includes helping to ensure a safe and reliable utility supply and managing infrastructure improvement projects as needed. The Facilites Engineer will also coordinate and schedule maintenance work in the facilities area. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life. Your work will directly impact the utility systems, which includes: wastewater treatment plant, storm water retention system, steam generators, factory air compressors, cooling towers, nitrogen supply, demineralized water, city water supply, fire water systems.
What We're Looking For:
- Operations duties focus on, but are not limited to Waste Water, Factory Air and Steam generation operations:
- Technical lead for waste water, boiler room, and factory air compressors.
- Prepare equipment and operational improvement plans both capital and expense. Coordinate with internal and external resources and consultants to devise a long-term plan to meet current and anticipated process improvements and expansions.
- Be the gatekeeper for maintenance activities in the area including scheduling and coordinating maintenance work.
- Support capital project work as needed.
- Work with team members to determine root cause for equipment failures and suspected failures.
- Maintenance and improvement of the aging underground piping and sewer systems.
- Assessment of current Nitrogen usage and future requirements.
- Adequate and reliable supply of City water volume and pressure at periods of high demand
- Fire water supply and unexpected U/G line breaks; Distribution piping changes leading to increased reliability.
- Compressed air and possible replacement / capacity increases to existing units.
- Demolition plan for the site: development of a demolition standard; execution of a prioritized list of Out of Service assets to be demolished / Disposed of.
Skills That Make a Difference:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience with manufacturing environments.
- Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Project management experience.
- Safety and Continuous Improvement mindset.
