Job Description:

Position provides strategic leadership and comprehensive oversight of the recruiting, admissions, and onboarding processes for the Graduate School. As the primary lead, this role involves collaborating closely with academic departments to set and achieve their enrollment goals, ensuring alignment with the Graduate School’s overall strategic objectives. Position manages full-time staff and graduate assistants by fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment, focusing on professional development and team cohesion. Provides clear direction and support to ensure the team effectively handles all aspects of recruiting, admissions, and onboarding. 

Job Responsibilities:

Establish a clear vision for student-centered recruitment, admission, and onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with the Graduate School’s Strategic Plan. Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive recruitment, admission, and onboarding program for graduate students, with a focus on data-driven strategies to optimize outcomes and enhance the student experience. Continuously review, analyze, and revamp the Graduate School’s recruitment, admission, and onboarding processes using data-driven insights. Identify and implement improvements based on metrics and feedback to streamline operations and enhance effectiveness. Utilize data analytics to track and evaluate the success of recruitment campaigns, admission processes, and onboarding initiatives, making informed decisions to drive strategic adjustments and achieve enrollment goals. 25%

Collaborate with academic colleges, departments, and campus partners to develop and refine programming that supports the recruitment, admission, and onboarding of graduate students. Create and implement new processes and programming as needed to ensure a seamless transition for admitted students from enrollment through to Graduate School’s Orientation. Serve as the primary liaison between the Graduate School and various stakeholders, including applicants, academic departments, and related units. 20%

The Assistant Dean of the Graduate Admissions is responsible for leading and managing a team of staff and graduate assistants who oversee the day-to-day operations of recruiting, admissions, and onboarding processes. This role involves supervising the team to ensure efficient handling of all inquiries from prospective students, managing the graduate application process for applicants, and addressing queries from admitted students during their transition to enrollment. Makes recommendations to Graduate School leadership on admissions and onboarding processes, policies, and practices, and ensures adherence to established admission policies, including residency requirements and application fee waiver and refund processes. Additionally, the position oversees necessary modifications to the TeamDynamix interface and the Slate interface and dashboards to optimize functionality and user experience. Provides guidance and support for application processing and credential evaluations, troubleshooting issues related to the online application system (CRM), and managing admission email and TeamDynamix tickets. 20%

Oversee the configuration and support of all hardware and software solutions for the CRM used for managing graduate applicants, including advanced SQL coding to optimize data processing and system functionality. Implement new systems in collaboration with the Information Technology Services (ITS) and the broader campus community, ensuring that new technologies are seamlessly integrated and aligned with institutional needs. Maintain and enhance data integrity within the CRM system, applying rigorous data management practices to ensure accuracy, reliability, and security of applicant information. As the Data Steward for the Graduate School, leverage data analytics to monitor and analyze system performance, generate actionable insights, and drive strategic improvements. Utilize data insights to inform decision-making, enhance recruitment strategies, and support continuous process optimization. Regularly review and refine data workflow
