About the role

Raymour & Flanigan has an immediate career opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the Finance Department at our Field Support Center in Liverpool, NY. Primary responsibilities include all aspects of Accounts Payables processes including the ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines, a high level of accuracy and problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment. An outgoing personality is required to bring an overall positive experience to our A/P team, internal groups, and vendors. Qualified candidates will display an enthusiastic attitude, be able to adapt to new circumstances as they arise, and provide exceptional customer service.

Essential Functions & Tasks:

  • Scan, codes and verify high-volume vendor invoices
  • Match invoices with product receipts and follow up on discrepancies to ensure timely payment according to vendor agreements
  • Review aging schedules to make certain all invoices are paid according to terms
  • Proper and accurate coding of inventory invoices to the general ledger
  • Process invoices for ACH payments and wire transfers
  • Process check requests through to payment
  • Audit payments to validate all credit memos are applied and prepare checks for mailing
  • Statement reconciliation
  • Maintain accounting files and archives
  • Organize and prioritize multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a dynamic team
  • Professional and effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Adhere to privacy, confidentiality and proprietary company policies and procedures.
  • Complete additional responsibilities as assigned when required by changing business needs

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years Accounts Payable experience or equivalent general accounting experience
  • Two-year accounting degree preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner with a high level attention to detail
  • Posess strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances
