The Royal Caribbean Group’s Silversea Cruises brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Expedition Staff Training and Development Analyst on the Expedition Operations and Development Team reporting to the Manager, Expedition Staff Training and Development.

Position Summary:

 

In this position, you will work closely with the Manager, Expedition Staff Training and Development, as well as with the Sr. Manager, Field Staff Recruitment. This position is tasked with research and coordination of logistics for relevant and necessary trainings and staff development initiatives for the Expedition team to continue creating a unique and meaningful experience for our guests. This will be accomplished by providing administrative assistance to positions tasked with improving technical, leadership and interpersonal skills of Silversea’s field staff.

 

You will help to coordinate trainings through a variety of platforms, including web-based seminars, workshops, and partnerships with on-site training providers while also leveraging the availability of existing trainers on the Expedition teams. You will also assist with the logistical elements involved with training implementations including the dissemination and coordination of company specific training documents and materials.  

 

This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Assisting with development of training calendar to include remote/online training, in-person workshops (shoreside and shipboard), mentorships, and briefings/debriefings

 

  • Facilitating surveys relevant to staff development and retention, providing reports to relevant parties

 

  • Managing and assisting the manager in populating online learning platform (LEAP) with new content to support staff training initiatives. Tracking and evaluating participation and results

 

  • Regularly monitoring, populating and updating of staff training databases and communication platforms such as Survey Monkey, Constant Contact, social media apps, LEAP, and Silver Seafarer newsletter

 

  • Assisting with the planning, coordination and evaluation of in-person (shoreside and shipboard) staff development and training initiatives, meetings and debriefings

 

  • In coordination with shoreside and shipboard departments, assisting with the dissemination of relevant and updated protocols and guidelines

 

  • Monitoring and tracking of SLP (Silversea Learning Platform) mandatory training courses. Communicating with Expedition Leaders and HR managers onboard regarding staff members with outstanding SLP courses. Regularly providing training certificates to Monaco office personnel

 

  • Working with newly hired staff - sending onboarding requirements checklist, enrolling staff in LEAP (learning platform for expedition staff) and Constant Contact. Regularly assisting with questions and providing user support with learning platforms

 

  • Providing administrative support to the planning and delivering of pre-seasonal trainings (Arctic, Antarctica, Kimberley), facilitating clear and timely communication with all the involved parties

 

  • Assisting field staff with enrollment and tracking of PTGA (Polar Tourism Guide association) membership

 

  • When necessary, traveling to various destination and assisting with logistics on-site

 

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • BSc/BA in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality, Business Administration, Communications, Education, Management or similar

 

  • Minimum of 1 year in an administrative position that includes coordination and communication with multiple parties

 

  • Strong administrative and organizing skills

 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in a professional demeanor
