Transplant Genomics Inc. (“TGI”) is a molecular diagnostics company committed to improving organ transplant outcomes with non-invasive serial monitoring guided by biomarkers. TGI’s product portfolio of both individual and combined whole blood gene expression and donor derived cell-free DNA testing is capable of reliably ruling out subclinical kidney rejection and acute rejection in kidney transplant patients. In addition to kidney transplantation testing, our newest product for liver transplant patients is a blood-based biomarker assay designed to rule out rejection as immunosuppression therapy is optimized.
Job Description
The TGI Clinical Laboratory Support Services Supervisor is primarily responsible for the pre-analytical processes in the laboratory, including specimen receipt, specimen sorting, specimen bag opening, lab support, test data entry, batching/racking specimens in preparation for testing and patient data entry, according to established standard operating procedures, in an accurate and timely manner. The TGI Clinical Laboratory Support Services Supervisor is additionally responsible for leading and managing a team of laboratory assistant staff in supporting our transplant testing services to achieve the highest quality standards.
Essential Job Duties:
• Supervise the workflow processes of the Transplant Genomics (TGI) CLIA-certified Clinical Laboratory Support Services staff, including clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput, SOP-driven environment.
• Manage the process of initial data entry of tests ordered into computer based laboratory information systems. Ensure that staff are validating test codes, specimen ID’s and patient information on requisition forms and additional paperwork against the applicable Laboratory Information Systems (LIMs). Ensure that requisitions are validated against specimens prior to data entry efforts.
• Monitor the daily workload, evaluate departmental workflow processes and activity of the TGI Support Services staff. Identify, develop and implement standardization efforts and process improvement opportunities.
• Accession specimen and alert Client Services to specimens requiring documentation and resolution for verification and documentation.
• Oversee all applicable departmental processes, including scheduling to ensure appropriate staffing, hiring and recruitment, performance reviews and coaching, conduct laboratory meetings and ensure laboratory safety compliance.
• Ensure applicable standard operating procedures are being utilized and followed appropriately and issue immediate corrective actions and documentation, as appropriate. Identify discrepancies in established processes, provide verification, mentoring and issue immediate corrective actions, as appropriate.
• Develop and review operational systems and maintains established policies, procedures and objectives in accordance with state and federal guidelines (i.e. quality systems, personnel training & competency, proficiency testing, documentation systems, occurrence management).
