Essential Duties
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual account reconciliations. Identifies and researches variances.
Responsible for components of year end audit and financial statement preparation. Responsible for compliance reporting requirements.
Act as coach and mentor for accounting staff and external departmental users.
Setting up and maintaining chart of accounts elements for grant funds in the financial system. Review and close inactive elements.
Establish, monitor and maintain grant accounts in financial system and related databases for various federal, state, private and local funding agencies.
Research and compile financial reporting data on quarterly or semi-annual basis and submit reports to Federal letter of credit accounts.
Prepare and submit grant billings that are in compliance with the approved funding agency budget.
Closeout grant accounts as needed. Evaluate account for balances in accounts receivable. Communicate with Principal Investigator (PI) if balance or overdraft exists. Prepare final financial status reports as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field; at least 3 years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree; CPA or CMA.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced accounting principles
Excel experience
Reporting software and complex accounting software
Grant experience
Familiar with data analysis, research and reporting tools.
