Description:

The Shiseido Summer Internship program is a paid, full time 9-week program for college rising Juniors or Seniors starting June 3rd through August 2nd. We are committed to your professional development so during your time here, you can expect to participate in meaningful projects, networking, professional development workshops, speaker series, volunteer activities, and you will also have the opportunity to connect with your global peers across the world!  

 

The Production Technical Engineering team manages projects to improve production processes by using machines and technology or using improved methods. We are responsible for establishing the filling and assembly process requirements from development through production validation of new launches at SAI.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Packaging and Research & Development teams to develop and design the filling and assembly process.
  • Study the capability of existing equipment and processes with a continuous improvement focus and prepare proposals for modification and investment as needed.  This study includes the review of new and existing products and identification of necessary equipment and change-parts for all.
  • Creation of production labor standards for all new products
  • Responsible for planning and performing product testing and validation on the factory floor in collaboration with the operations and maintenance teams.
  • Responsible for executing report of line trial and validation.
  • Lead in identification of risks, development of mitigation strategies and/or alternative solutions and resolution of issues in collaboration with cross functional teams
  • Will create complete, detailed SOP (Compliance - Filling and Assembly Specification) and lead in supporting the operational training of all stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving and quality improvement projects in Production.
  • Daily interaction with Production personnel (line leaders, operators, mechanics, administrators, engineers) to gain an understanding of operations.
  • Becoming familiar with filling and assembly processes for various cosmetics products such as lipsticks, hot pours, powders, skincare, liquid makeup
  • Working closely with Production machinery and equipment
  • Presenting improvement opportunities and risks
  • Performing data analysis
  • Process flow mapping
  • Creating clear detailed work instructions to facilitate training of staff.
  • Monitoring implementation and reporting on challenges/gaps in adherence

 

Requirements:

  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior in college working towards a bachelor’s degree.  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and highly organized 
  • Energetic, self-motivated, results oriented. 
  • Flexible and able to function in a fast-paced, safety-first work environment. 
  • Must be able to commute to designated workplace and work the required weekly schedule associated with department.
  • Have a passion for cosmetics, beauty industry and consistently keeping up-to-date with trends.
