Job Description:
At Regions, the Software Engineer Senior Manager manages two or more large departments within the company and oversees strategy development to ensure the application portfolio meets current business requirements and is operational, stable, and at an appropriate level of technical maturity.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of system design, development, deployment, acquisition, and ongoing maintenance for all application systems within area of responsibility
- Serves as the primary technology contact for senior management from all areas of the organization in developing technology solutions that increase the efficiency of internal business functions, resolves business problems, and supports the pursuit of business opportunities for area of responsibility
- Creates and refines operational processes and systems to ensure effective regulatory and audit compliance
- Applies interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop, and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions
- Evaluates customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrates technical parameters, and assures compatibility of all interfaces
- Supports the planning, organization, implementation, and monitoring of requirements through management processes
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Twelve (12) years of relevant experience
- Three (3) years of supervisory or managerial experience
Preferences
- Experience in Technology role in banking or financial services industry
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills
- Will lead a group of engineers spanning multiple technologies, platforms, and functions supporting Debit, ATM, Account Solutions (collections, recovery, bankruptcy, charge-off, deceased), and Unsecured Lending (credit card and loans) originations and servicing.
- Candidates should have experience working within, and leading distributed, mainframe, and cloud platform teams and functions spanning everything from application development through platform and application support.
- Familiarity with CACS, ACAPS, ACLS, Connex, PaymentsOne, and Data Navigator will be keys to success.
- Selected candidate will serve as part of senior leader team and should be comfortable communicating and influencing at all levels of the organization.
- Position requires the candidate to be entrepreneurial, seeking the ability to lead autonomously with vision and purpose.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week.
