We’re looking for a highly motivated candidate that will work on a team that develops state-of-the-art embedded Linux software solutions.  This candidate will also develop, own, maintain and enhance our development infrastructure using DevOps methodologies.

Within Collins Aerospace we work alongside FPGA, hardware, systems and software teams in order to seamlessly embed our advanced technology into our communications product portfolio.  Our state-of-the-art embedded software and test solutions support commercial customers such as Airbus and Boeing, US government projects and more!.

What YOU will do:

  • You will design, develop and continuously enhance our customized Linux OS ecosystem and maintain ownership over areas such as build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP for a wide variety of hardware boards.

  • You will contribute to the design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software and drivers

  • You will prepare software builds for execution in a simulation environment, reference platforms and on the target hardware.

  • You will prepare embedded test solutions that support hardware qualification activities

  • You will use industry best practices and capabilities to assist programs with deployment, implementation, modernization, and support of DevOps solutions.

  • You will support software tool customization and automation, including deployment of templates, dashboards, and scripts to support program needs.

  • You will assist our team with development and support of build/test pipeline and integration, optimizing for performance and scalability across both cloud and onsite computing environments.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

  • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or granted refugee or asylee status) as defined here:  https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-22/chapter-I/subchapter-M/part-120/subpart-C/section-120.62

  • 5 years of experience as a command line user of Linux, with mid-level skills in embedded C/C++

  • Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python)

  • Experience with embedded Linux device drivers

  • Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integration

  • Experience with debugging and root cause investigations using hardware schematics and tools such as logic analyzer and Wireshark

  • Experience with DevOps methodologies.

  • Experience deploying and supporting Gitlab CI/CD tooling, pipelines, and automation solutions in a business/enterprise environment.

  • Experience provisioning cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS.

  • Experience with Linux System Administration and general working knowledge of networks, storage, and virtualization.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with GIT and SVN version control systems

  • Experience packaging custom Linux distribution with Bui
