The anticipated salary range for this role is between $137,000.00 and $196,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The senior production support candidate will be responsible for providing production support of the bank’s global web-based Cash Management System (CMS). The candidate should be strong in object-oriented design, design patterns, creating complex SQL queries and industry best practices with experience of applying them to solve significant real life software problems.  The candidate will also be responsible for creating documentation for the processes that they support as well as updating documentation for processes that they are changing and/or enhancing.  This position will be a key member of JRIA's Application Production Support Team.

Role Objectives: Delivery

  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely support
  • Root cause investigation and preparation of the incident report
  • Working with globally distributed environments
  • Collaborates with project team members to define and design scope for each project
  • Ensure system capacity, performance and 24x7 availability
  • Mentor and train junior developers in the team
  • Keep up to date with new technology development and implementation
  • Find ways to improve the design of the existing programs and optimize performance
  • Provide various ad hoc reports for business users
  • Participate in code promotion activities
  • Develop interfaces using JEE technologies to other internal / external systems.
  • Responsible for designing, developing and supporting Java/J2EE web based projects
  • Design, code and unit test JEE base applications
  • Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded. Ensures programs meet standards and technical specifications; performs technical analysis and component delivery.

 

Role Objectives: Interpersonal

Partner with business team leads to gain insight into user needs and develop a plan to improve the utility of implemented applications. Advise the development team of business unit needs and advise on the creation of a roadmap for new processes and features. Engage with key application users to study key business processes and advise on building procedures to best utilize application features. Conduct periodic meetings of support staff to discuss incident patterns and identify new policies and procedures to improve utility or reliability of applications.
