Job Description
Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Department: Grounds/Maintenance
Reports To: Director of Facilities
FLSA Status: Nonexempt - At-Will Position
Position Status: Full Time Position � 12 Months
Salary: DOE
- Additional monies may be awarded for education earned beyond a high school diploma (official transcripts required)
- HR will make salary placement upon hiring
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Open and secure buildings and facilities as needed
- Attend Building Manager meetings
- Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
- Perform minor maintenance and repairs as needed (changing light bulbs, etc.)
- Assist with district endeavors (moving classrooms, events on campuses, etc.)
- Move furniture and equipment based upon the needs of the facility
- Setup Board Room for meetings and special events; disassemble at the conclusion
- Pick up and deliver items throughout the district as needed
- Train custodians on best cleaning procedures
- Train custodians on appropriate floor care procedures (stripping, waxing, carpet cleaning, etc.)
- Ensure uniformity of cleaning practices among sites
- Train custodians on proper use of chemicals
- Keep all custodial equipment in prime working order (foggers, carpet shampooers, auto scrubbers, extractors, etc.)
- Keep Data Sheets (SDS) books up to date
- Cover for site Building Managers when absences occur
- Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
- Perform all duties in a safe and prudent manner as directed by supervisors
- Be flexible; perform other duties as assigned
- Follow district policies as outlined

Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
- Minimum three (3) years exemplary work experience performing similar duties and responsibilities
- Valid AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with IVP number
Physical Requirements � Physical Work
- Positions in this classification typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), focusing ability, or other factors applicable for the job.
- Employee must be able to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces while performing various duties including, but not limited to, using push/pull force of up to 50 pounds for various machines.
- Employee must stand constantly and walk frequently lifting items of various sizes, up to 30 pounds. Items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to lift.
- Employee may rarely be required to climb
