Clinical Technician 1 - Medical Oncology - IAH

Inova Alexandria Hospital's Medical Oncology Unit is currently hiring an experienced Clinical Technician or Certified Nursing Assistant for 3x12 hour Day shifts and alternating weekends. Ideal candidate must be able to attend and complete a 6-week training course at Inova's Clinical Technician Academy.  

Clinical Technician 1 position on the Medical Oncology  Unit at Inova Alexandria Hospital - Full Time Day Shift

 

Job Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Provides basic activities of daily living nursing care (eg. bathing, feeding) and measurement of vital signs and intake/output.
• Demonstrates competency in all required clinical skills and technologies in accordance with IHS policies and procedures.
• Completes assigned patient duties within the time frame established.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in providing care for the patient population assigned.
• Completes necessary documentation accurately each shift. Reinforces discharge teaching and home care skills.
• Communicates and collaborates with care team members implement the plan of care to meet individualized and developmental patient care outcomes.

Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Three 12 hour shifts per week (with every other weekend rotation)
Training: Ideal candidate must be able to attend a 6 week training course

Requirements

• Experience: Healthcare experience preferred
• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Certification: BLS within 90 days of hire (from the American Heart Association)
