Job Description:

Department Overview:

The Senior Business Analyst role sits within Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) and works on various systems and data related projects that analyzes current AML processes, design technical solutions that include but not limited to the enhancement/advancement of transaction monitoring systems, the development and management of analytics/metrics and the creation and management of data ecosystems.  The candidate in this role will work with FCRM stakeholders to collect both business and technical requirements, track critical milestones, escalate issues/risks and ensure stakeholder delivery.  The candidate in this role will also support business architecture and data strategy teams with strategic developments in data and technology deployments.

Job Description Summary:

The Sr Business Analyst plans, manages, leads and oversees the end-to-end delivery of requirements throughout the lifecycle of the project in alignment with the business and/or enterprise needs and strategies. Provides leadership and works collaboratively with stakeholders including business, technology and finance partners to support project benefits and changes to business processes, policies and systems across single or multiple Lines of Business (LoB).

Depth & Scope:

  • Leads Requirements Management / work packages for Tier 3-4, low to moderate risk and regulatory projects with multiple stakeholders and across multiple LoB
  • Advanced to expert knowledge of business analysis, project delivery practices and standards across the project life-cycle
  • Gains/acquires sound to advanced understanding of business and user interaction with technology throughout project delivery
  • Works independently as the senior or lead business analyst and coaches and guides members within area of expertise
  • Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels
  • Contributes to the communication and change management activities across multiple stakeholders


Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Business Analysis Accreditation is an asset
  • 5+ years related business analysis experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to complete Business Requirements Documents and Technical Requirements Documents
  • Ability to understand system operations
  • Ability to understand data architecture
  • Able to conduct technology based POC's and POV's
  • Able to interact with various stakeholders within business and technology functions
  • Self-starter, independent worker
  • Ability to manage a high demand of requests and change of scope
  • Ability to analyze processes to decipher business requirements/needs
  • Ability to design and test technical solutions
  • Ability to use various banking systems including business intelligence software like Tableau and Power BI
  • Familiarity with systems, applications, and data constructs
  • Proven delivery of data and technology-related projects
  • Some working knowledge of banking and or financial crimes domains

  • Leads a diverse range of stakeholders; communicates effectively by adapting style and technique to a diverse audience
  • Analyzes impacts to customers, stakeholders, employees, process, technology solutions to achieve business results
  • Understands and clarifies work packages of each assigned initiative/project inclusive of constraints (time, cost, people resources) and maintain a customer-centric approach
  • Provides recommendations and direction based on the end to end customer experience
