Role Overview

The Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality dishes, and managing the kitchen staff.


Key duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting in planning and creating menu items in collaboration with the Executive Chef
  • Overseeing food preparation, ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes
  • Managing kitchen staff, training, and delegating tasks as needed
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
  • Ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • Monitoring inventory, ordering supplies, and managing food costs
  • Handling customer special requests and dietary needs
  • Helping with staff scheduling and kitchen operations during peak hours

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar kitchen role
  • Culinary Degree
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and presentation
  • Leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Passion for food and a commitment to high-quality standards
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent knowledge of English language. Any additional language will be considered an asset
