Rocket Travel is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Frontend to join our product engineering team. Remote employment is an option for this role.

• Total Compensation is based on experience - Salary: The starting point for this role is $120,000 Bonus: up to 19%

As a Senior Software Engineer (Frontend) at Rocket Travel, you will:

• Be involved in all facets of the software development process from inception to deployment.
• Build new products, research and develop new technologies, and come up with new ideas. We are looking for a customer- and product-focused engineer.
• Be an integral member of one of our emerging product teams, helping to build travel-focused web applications.
• Have goals that will include developing and improving our web applications, designing and implementing A/B tests, building new features, and contributing to the experience our customers have come to expect from Rocket Travel and our partners.
• Be working mostly with React and GraphQL, with the opportunity to learn and make contributions on the backend, too.
• Stay on the leading edge of technical know-how, industry trends and drive technical innovations.

About You:

• B.S. in Computer Science or quantitative field.
• At least 5 years production experience developing web applications in client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, VueJS, etc.
• Working experience with agile, analytics, A/B testing and/or feature flags, Continuous Delivery, Trunk-based Development.
• Excellent HTML/CSS skills – you understand not only how to build the data, but how to make it look great too.
• You have experience with JavaScript build tools such as Webpack.
• Excellent understanding of object-oriented JavaScript, TypeScript.
• Great communication and coordination skills
• You are interested in sharing ownership and product direction for our customer-facing web applications.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Interest in tackling large technical projects & problems, learning deeply about new technologies, and sharing skills & knowledge with other engineers.

It’s Great if you have:

• Knowledge and experience building accessible web applications (including WCAG 2.0, WCAG 2.1, and WCAG 2.2).
• Knowledge and hands on experience in CI/CD solutions would be a plus.
• Strong experience in all aspects of client-side performance optimization.
• Extremely proficient in modern coding and design practices. For example, Clean Code, SOLID principles, and TDD.
• Experience in multiple front-end platforms including iOS, Android and Mobile Web.
• Have worked on an app or internet company that is at scale with large numbers of users and transactions per second.
• Have experience in a data driven company with experience analyzing and working with Big Data.
• Worked on global projects serving world markets with distributed data centers and localization of the frontend and data.
