We are looking for a Staff Acoustic Engineer, Origin Hardware Lead to collaborate with component performance engineers, SME, component leads, and program managers, and will provide technical and programmatic oversight in vendor meetings for components. The role includes developing strategies and reporting out regularly on the status of hardware development programs, particularly with regards to risks, root cause efforts, and commercial impacts. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Coordinating with SME, performance engineers, component technical leads, and technical program managers

  • Documenting program risks and developing technical “micro-schedules” for risk reduction with the team

  • Communicating program status in various forums, particularly the commercial implications of technical issues

  • Supporting and/or driving root cause efforts

  • Bounding, prioritizing, and reviewing technical deliverables informing decisions

  • Documentation of architectural trades, an understanding of audio architecture trade offs and risks

  • Technical diagramming in low fidelity CAD tools

  • Vendor management 

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • 10+ years of experience cumulative in, physical acoustics, audio electronics, and array time series processing

  • Familiarity physical acoustic principles related to transducers, acoustic scattering, and sound-structure interaction

  • Ability and to communicate vision for phasing development of cross-functional projects

  • Vendor management, project management, and/or acoustic consulting experience

  • Experience with consumer-electronics or automotive development cycles 

  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills, and organizational skills

  • Experience with Comsol / Ansys 

  • Experience with VOIP/AES67 systems

The salary range for this position is $156,400 - 230,000. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
