About the role
This is a remote position.
SUMMARY
The Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing highly secure network solutions to protect against cyber-attacks and hacking threats.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate business strategies and needs to determine security requirements.
- Research information security standards and conduct system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments.
- Study architecture or platform, identify integration issues, and prepare cost estimates.
- Maintain oversight of IT and Vendor Management Programs, including security assessments and maintenance of systems and applications.
- Participate in IT audits, risk assessments, and regulatory compliance audits.
- Evaluate network and security technologies, develop requirements for LANs, WANs, VPNs, routers, firewalls, and related devices.
- Design public key infrastructures (PKIs), including the use of certification authorities (CAs) and digital signatures.
- Implement intrusion detection methodologies and equipment, oversee installation and calibration, and provide technical support.
- Lead the development and operation of the intrusion detection and prevention system.
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and controls for system security administration and user access.
- Administer security group structure for managing end-user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Monitor server logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection logs, and network traffic for suspicious activity.
- Research emerging products, services, protocols, and standards to enhance security.
- Recommend and perform security improvements, upgrades, and purchases.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of experience in information security or systems analysis and in Microsoft Windows infrastructure.
- Experience with MFA, VPN, proxy servers, intrusion detection systems, data loss prevention systems, network security or VPN management software, transaction security software, virus protection software, and change management.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Motivated and self-starting, able to work independently or in a collaborative team.
- Nice-to-have: Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, Security+, CISM, OSCP, etc.
