Customer Service Representative

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Support customers and sales staff of our nVent Greenville, PA campus (formerly ILSCO Extrusions), which specializes in made-to-order extruded and fabricated aluminum componentry for intercompany use and external third-party customers.

  • Acknowledge and resolve product or service problems by clarifying the customer's complaint; figuring out the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution.

  • Use JD Edwards ERP software to perform customer service, order entry, pricing, shipping and invoicing functions.

  • Perform electronic order review and reconciliation.

  • Management of customer backorders and lead time inquiries, including working with Planning and Manufacturing to determine accurate shipping dates.

  • Resolution of price discrepancies identified at the time of order.

  • Answer inquiries received via phone and email, often by working with other departments such as Transportation & Distribution, Product Management, Engineering, Technical Support, Sales, Planning, and Finance to facilitate a resolution prior to communication with the customer.

  • Compile performance metrics for review, approval and communication.

  • Perform system maintenance for sales support and product data management.

  • Act as back-up for production and inventory transactions and reporting.

YOU HAVE:

  • High school diploma required.

  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service setting.

  • Experience in a manufacturing office environment preferred.

  • Ability to multi-task and juggle shifting priorities to satisfy customer requests.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Knowledge of ERP/order management systems.

  • Experience with electronic ordering systems (web and EDI).

  • Strong communication/interpersonal skills.

  • Ability and willingness to work with other departments, such as technical support, engineering, sales, product management and shipping & receiving.

  • Experience processing order demands from automotive Tier I and Tier II customers.

  • Inventory and production control experience preferred.
