What is the opportunity?

RBC’s Office of the US CIO is responsible for the oversight of all technology supporting the firm’s Combined US Operations (CUSO). The CUSO includes Capital Markets, Wealth Management, City National Bank, RBC Bank (US), Global Asset Management, and Functions within the US.

This unique role combining business analysis and project management is accountable to the US CIO for the delivery of project delivery, business analysis and requirements. This hands-on role will directly contribute to project functional/technical/quality analysis and oversee the plan creation, management and delivery of cross-LOB technical, regulatory and business-driven initiatives.

What will you do?

  • Lead delivery of key initiatives within a complex technical, risk and regulatory portfolio by leaning on your strong project planning and execution abilities.

  • Support project analysis through requirements gathering, data analysis, testing strategy, and execution planning

  • Build trust-based relationships with your sponsors, senior leadership, and key internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks, issues, and interdependencies with clear action plans

  • Track and manage financials, including budgets, forecasts, estimates, invoices and SOWs

  • Maintain timely and clear initiative reporting across timelines, scope, risks, and financial health

  • Contribute to key program meetings and steering committee materials.  Prepare materials with critical attention to detail and narrative building for presentation to senior executives and regulatory bodies 

  • Assist in the collection, completion, organization and maintenance of regulatory remediation project documentation, ensuring accuracy and readiness for 2LOD (line of defense), 3LOD (Internal Audit) and regulatory (OCC and FRB) closure and submission.

  • Follow enterprise program practices around project artifact creation, presentation and submission.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • Minimum 5+ years of project management experience – delivering projects on time and within budget.

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in business, banking compliance, risk, legal, regulatory, or related bank regulatory experience.

  • Knowledge and understanding of IT governance, regulatory, controls and risk management in the financial services industry.

  • Strong outcomes-driven delivery experience, with a track record of leading complex initiatives to completion.

  • Proven ability to impact and influence cross-functional partners and key stakeholders, both internal and external, across varying levels of seniority.

  • Critical attention to detail, with the ability to identify inconsistencies and improve data accuracy.

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience building executive level presentations and communications.

  • Advanced in Excel (Pivot, filtering, sums, formulas across multiple worksheets).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

  • Experience with SharePoint for document management.

  • A logical & creative approach to problem solving and an ability to identify critical issues with ease.

Nice to have:

  • Tableau data visualization abilities

  • Experience with Clarity/Planview and/or RBC MIS (Management Information System), Confluence, Jira

  • Solid financial experience, ideally with capital expenditure requests
