Job Description
Summer 2023 Crowds Internship:
- Applications close: March 10, 2023 at 11:59pm PT
- Program Dates: June 20, 2023 - August 25, 2023
- Time Commitment: Full Time (40 hours per week)
- Format: Hybrid OR Remote
Responsibilities: “What would you say you do here?”
- Create an appealing performance for crowd characters from key framed cycles or motion capture data, using Crowd simulation software and motion editing tools.
- Work with Crowd Developers to determine and possibly build features and toolsets that are required to craft desired performances
- Organize and present your work to your supervisor, the Director, and Visual Effects Supervisor and address notes accurately.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications: “What do I need to have in order to do this job?”
- Experience working with crowd simulation software like Houdini and Massive
- Good eye for detail
- Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or being a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- For remote internship option, must have own equipment (computer, headphones, etc.) and stable internet connection
- For hybrid internship option, must be willing to work in Glendale, California
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols
Desired Qualifications: “What can I offer?”
- Scripting in languages like VEX and Python
- Experience working with crowds or other simulation techniques
Hourly Rate: $16.50
Hybrid OR Fully Remote: This position is open to be completed Hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week, OR Fully Remote, contributing from a non-DreamWorks worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
