Critical Environment - Regional Operations Center Technician

As a Critical Environment Technician in the Regional Operations Center, your mission is to be at the center of operations, ensuring the integrity and performance of our state-of-the-art datacenters. You will be the first point of contact for handling critical incidents and alarms, collaborating with local teams and leveraging advanced monitoring tools to restore services swiftly and efficiently. Your role is pivotal in incident management—you identify resolutions, provide updates, manage expectations, and facilitate the allocation of resources to resolve complex support escalations. By documenting issues and sharing feedback, you help prevent future incidents and continually improve customer support experiences. Responsibilities

Monitoring and Analysis

• You will monitor and analyze Critical Environment (CE) equipment using CE applications in Facility Planner.

Alarm Response

•  You are responsible for acknowledging and triaging alarms generated by CE applications. You will notify the site teams by creating investigation requests and work orders as needed.

Incident Management

• You will acknowledge, and triage incidents generated by human interaction or telemetry notifications. You will provide status updates and facilitate resource allocation to support account managers.

Data Collection

• You will collect relevant data during incidents and make it available for mitigation and resolution.

Shift Turnover

• You will create, and review shift turnover reports to ensure smooth transitions between shifts. Drills

Participation

•  You will participate in EOP/incident drills on a quarterly basis.

Physical Requirements

• Applies to but is not limited to US-based Data Center roles: Occasional climbing of ladders. Frequent climbing of stairs and/or ramps. Prolonged standing. Occasional lifting 50lbs / 22.5kg. Occasional push or pull 50-75 lbs / 22.5-34kg. with assistive device. Normal visual acuity (near, far and peripheral with correction), defined via standard medical terms and applicable criteria. Normal color vision for electrical work, defined via standard medical terms and applicable criteria

Working Conditions

• Applies to but is not limited to US-based Data Center roles: Working for extended periods under elevated levels of ambient noise, heat, and light due to necessary equipment and ventilation systems.As indicated, above, this role has a travel requirement of up to 25% which means you may be required to travel, from time to time, as part of this role.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 1+ year(s) mission critical services work/applied learning experience (e.g., high availability assembly/manufacturing/critical infrastructure environments such as data centers, oil and gas refineries, hospitals, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, remote operations management, call center or related fields) or equivalent experience
