Rakuten Rebates is an affiliate-based point redemption service operated by Rakuten, celebrating its 7th year since its launch this year.

With a team of about 50 people, we have a startup-like environment where you can work with plenty of communication and autonomy.

On the one hand, we operate with support from Rakuten headquarters and Rakuten.com (formerly Ebates.com) based in San Francisco, USA, in terms of budget and internal IT resources, as well as access to overseas markets (clients).

Rakuten Rebates Creative Web Design Group is consisted of a group of multi-talented individuals who care deeply about the experience of our users. From Creative to UX, we collaborate closely with other teams across our business to bring the best value to our customers.

Why We Hire

Due to business expansion, we are looking for a Creative Director/Design Leader to coordinate requirements and assign and supervise designers for Rakuten Rebates creative projects.

　

Position Details

As the organizing department of a service provider, you will be able to experience communication through service provision from the closest position to users, such as project management of creative projects, assignment of designers, coordination of stakeholders inside and outside the team, definition of requirements for projects, and service improvement. This is a great opportunity to experience communication through service delivery from a position closest to the user.

　

Work Environment

The Product Design team is composed of 6 members with a mix of talents.

The team includes a manager with experience in managing Rakuten services across business aspects, a UI/UX designer, a creative designer, a UI/UX researcher and director, and other senior-level members.

　

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience as a creative director or designer (5+ years).

- Experience in directing and supervising the design of creative banners and pages related to Japanese campaign.

- Experience using JIRA (project management tool).

- Deep understanding of Japanese typography and the ability to research Japanese campaign creatives.

- Experience collaborating with non-design stakeholders, including developers.

- Ability to propose improvements to enhance productivity and ensure deadlines.

- Skills to propose strategic designs with an understanding of business mindset.

- Strong intention to enrich people's lives by improving user experience.

- Native-level communication skills in Japanese.

　

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience managing projects using JIRA (project management tool).

- Experience designing with Figma, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

- Understanding of graphic design principles and color theory.

- Experience creating design guidelines.

- Experience in video direction.

- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS.

- Ability to efficiently prioritize and handle multiple tasks in an orderly manner.

- Experience in UI/UX projects.

Additional information on English Qualification

TOEIC Score exceeding 800 (or similar level of English ability or a University Degree earned in an English-speaking country)
In this case, it is necessary to achieve a TOEIC Score exceeding 800 after joining Rakuten in order to be eligible to become a regular employee.
