Course Material Management Specialist

VitalSource®, is hiring a Course Material Management Specialist to contribute to our Procurement team located in Raleigh NC, Chicago IL, Franklin TN, or Boston MA (preferred locations). Applicants outside of these preferred locations will still be considered. There is a 10% travel requirement for this role.
As a vital member of the team, you’ll help troubleshoot inventory issues, source and set up new products across a variety of formats and platforms, manage purchase orders, and provide hands-on support wherever it's needed. Key Responsibilities:
- Order Execution — Ensure timely and accurate order placement by monitoring workflow efficiency.
- Reports- Monitor and review reports to identify and implement quick resolutions to issues.
- Title Setup – Ensure requested titles that are not in our database are setup correctly for sourcing
- Vendor Setup – Ensure new vendors are setup in all required systems and conform to set guidelines
- CSM & AEM Assist — Collaborate with CSMs and AEMs to provide assistance as needed
- Order Assist — Ensure all required materials for each school are ordered, received, and ready for shipment.
- Title Management— Ensure all titles and their availability are noted with the correct information. Follow up and confirm availability on a regular basis.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree and/or experience that has provided you with the skills, qualifications, and experience necessary to be successful in this role.
- 1+ years experience in ecommerce: logistics, operations, or inventory control or related field
- Prefer previous experience in a College Bookstore, preferred
- Demonstrated ability to analyze multiple data sources, evaluate conditions, and make informed decisions that align with business goals.
- Highly meticulous with a strong focus on accuracy, data integrity, and methodical problem-solving.
- Proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, proactively supporting colleagues to achieve shared objectives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage technology and data-driven insights to solve complex business challenges.
- Proactive in evaluating, refining, and optimizing existing processes to enhance business tools and overall efficiency.
- Willingness to work extended hours during peak business cycles (January, August, September) to ensure operational success and meet business demands.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including intermediate-level functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data visualization, and formula-based automation.
Salary Range: $52,000 to $63,750
