Category/Shift:

Hourly Full-Time - Primarily Day shift hours, Must be flexible with schedule.  Some weekend work is required. Must also fill in when others are out on vacation.

The Job You Will Perform:

• Along with his/her supervisor and machine crews, takes full responsibility of the quality and product that is produced within the shift in line with the company’s quality systems, processes and procedures. Drives quality and manufacturing process.
• Responsible for supporting shift’s management of staff, production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of productions processes.
• Helps supervisors motivate, engage, manage and develop production crews.
• Supports communication – verbal or written – between supervisors and his/her direct reports and further.
• Helps monitor, measure, and report on production related process performance and general issues.
• With his/her supervisor responsible for ensuring that Health and Safety Rules and regulations are adhered to during the shift and all matters relating to this are dealt with using the resources within the plant in line with IP’s Health and Safety Policies and procedures. Drives safety processes.
• Works closely with plant supervisors and machine crew to ensure production handovers are effective.
• Supports plant’s training efforts in order to meet current and future demands.
• Has an active role in plant’s continuous improvement plans to achieve future goals.
• Operates all machinery assigned to within the safety guidelines established by the company and standard safe work practices.
• Other duties as requested by managers and/or supervisors.

• Must be able to communicate reliably and at all levels.
• Flexible – must be able to work extended hours when required, including different shifts. 
• Must understand the principles of manufacturing (corrugated business).
• Good planning and organizational skills, preferred.
• Minimum 5 years working in a high volume manufacturing environment.
• Must be dynamic, energetic, self-driven, results oriented and above all has a positive “can do” outlook with a clear focus on deliverables.
