Job Summary

The Corporate Intern will develop a solid understanding of the department they are in as well as the overall business. The internship aims to provide our interns with challenging, real-world projects specific to their career path. Works within the department on day to day projects; projects will include but not be limited to activities related to process improvement, project management, data support, reporting (including Power BI dashboards), documentation, and other assigned responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Works within the department on day to day projects; which include but are not limited to activities related to process improvement, project management, data support, reporting, documentation, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Builds relationships through meetings, events and one-on-ones with various employee owners and leaders.
  • Focuses on real-world projects within the department
  • Collaborates with various departments throughout the company.

 

Department Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Project Manager team to track and update project milestones, deliverables, risks, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning within the Grid Solutions portfolio.
  • Develops an understanding of Utility and Renewable scopes, including materials and system integration, to support project objectives.
  • Creates and maintains project documentation such as estimates, material submittals, meeting minutes, status reports, action item trackers, and ensures adherence to project guidelines.
  • Assists with quote creation in SAP and opportunity documentation in Salesforce.
  • Supports day-to-day departmental activities including project management, process improvement, data support, reporting, documentation, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with various departments and builds relationships through meetings, events, and one-on-ones with leadership and employees.
  • Assists in organizing and participating in Office and Engineer training sessions, including presentation support.
  • Researches and gathers product data (descriptions, specifications, photos) for use on the e-commerce site.
  • Supports metering activities and Total Customer Cost Management by gathering and entering cost-savings data into SharePoint.
  • Participates in on-site customer projects, including part identification (Crib Crawls) and customer part number verification.
  • Travels with Application Engineers to customer sites for meetings, training, and project support.

 

Non-essential Functions

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a BS/BA Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Students must have completed their sophomore year, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Strong knowledge of business office procedures, office equipment operation, data entry/keyboarding skills and communication systems helpful.
  • Prefer strong knowledge of PC for Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint).

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, reading, and customer service skills
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize.
  • Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive and engaged.
