Who You Are:

The Corporate Development team is a dynamic, cross-functional group working across all of Galaxy, managing deployment of balance sheet capital for strategic investment and M&A transactions, and leading Galaxy’s development and management of organic growth initiatives. The Analyst/Associate will be expected to manage multiple complex projects and priorities that will be instrumental to the firm’s success. The Analyst/Associate will be an integral member of the team and will have an important role in helping to craft and execute Galaxy’s growth initiatives.  This role will be particularly focused on M&A, venture portfolio company management, and other strategic transactions. Projects will include but are not limited to: creating investment committee materials, constructing financial models & diligence/investment analyses, and managing M&A activity (deal sourcing, execution, integration, and pipeline management). The Analyst/Associate will work directly with all members of this team and partner with Galaxy business leads / operational functions to unearth data and insights for informed decision-making, providing significant opportunity for professional development within the role.   

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Analyze / value businesses creatively and build financial models, including but not limited to: three statement operating models, public company and precedent transaction comparables, DCFs, return sensitivity tables.
  • Solutions-oriented approach in addressing unstructured ideas and situations by developing structured paths forward for senior stakeholders to consider.
  • Effectively manage and prioritize across multiple projects at the same time and ability to balance innovative / strategic focus with tactical implementation / execution.
  • Synthesize large data and financial sets quickly and effectively to produce digestible outputs and make actionable recommendations / insights to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Manage large, cross-functional projects and build consensus with team members at all levels within the organization.

 

What We’re Looking For:

 

  • Minimum of 2 years transaction experience in Investment Banking, Management Consulting, and/or Corporate Development/Venture Capital/Private Equity.
  • Knowledge of basic financial and accounting concepts.
  • Excellent communication skills, including strong writing abilities and the ability to create high-quality presentations and materials.
  • High level of discretion while dealing with sensitive, potentially market-moving financial information.
