Job Description
We’re looking for an energetic and collaborative communications professional to join the NREL Corporate Communications Office. The successful candidate will be adept at a variety of communications and have experience with project management and hosting high-level events. This position requires excellent organizational skills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects/events simultaneously.
In this position you will collaborate with individuals across the laboratory to plan event logistics, and coordinate details such as reserving rooms, arranging catering and transportation, and day-of event support.
We’re looking for a self-motivated individual with a passion for scientific research who enjoys interacting with people and overseeing details and deadlines with limited supervision.
Duties will include:
- Planning and hosting strategic meetings and events that support NREL in carrying out its mission
- Supporting online virtual offerings and being comfortable with online platforms
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.

Basic Qualifications
Relevant Bachelor's Degree and 2 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Or, relevant Master's Degree or equivalent relevant education/experience. General knowledge and application of technical standards, principles, theories and techniques. Frequent application of industry concepts and principles. General knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and practices related to specific field. Skilled in problem solving, written and verbal communication. Ability to use various computer software programs.* Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.
Additional Required Qualifications
- Experience planning and executing events
- Experience working with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Word, etc.)
- Experience using virtual meeting platforms (Teams, Zoom, WebEx, etc.)
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Ability to react positively to rapidly chan
