Norton Rose Fulbright, an AmLaw top 15 firm and recipient of Energage’s 2023 Top Workplaces USA Award, is seeking a Business Development Coordinator for the Commercial Litigation and Antitrust practices.

The Team

As part of the US Business Development (BD) team, the Business Development Coordinator will provide support to the Commercial Litigation and Antitrust practices. This role works with others in BD across the United States to support day-to-day activities that generate new client relationships, enhance brand profile, and drive revenue opportunities.

We aim to provide you with opportunities to develop your career, encouraging close cooperation and teamwork alongside our broader Marketing and Business Development team.

This position reports into the Head of Business Development, Global Antirust and US Commercial Litigation. This position can be based in our Austin, Dallas, Houston or San Antonio offices.

The Role

You will support the Commercial Litigation and Antitrust practices lawyers on specific marketing and business development initiatives, which aim to monitor the legal trends of the industry and raise and maintain awareness of our practices in line with those trends and our strategic growth objectives. Specific tasks include:

  • Strategic Initiatives – Assisting with the development and execution of BD initiatives to target opportunities in specific practice areas and locations

  • Experience Lists – Produce and update practice experience statements within Foundation, update and maintain marketing collateral and brochures

  • Proposals/RFPs – Help prepare bespoke proposals, RFP responses and other client development presentations, including drafting and editing content; and coordinating multi-practice contributions to opportunities (such as CVs, team details, experience, etc.)

  • Directory and Award Submissions – Prepare and coordinate content for submission to Chambers, Legal 500 and other media publications

  • Publications and Client Alerts – Coordinate the development and publicizing of legal updates and articles, in cooperation with the Marketing and PR team where necessary

  • Internal Reporting – Track and report on client development efforts and partner BD-related activities.

  • Research – Coordinate industry or organization research with the in-house competitive intelligence team

  • Events/Sponsorships – Event support and delivery in collaboration with the in-house events team for conference sponsorships, client presentations and seminars, client dinners and other events related to the promotion of the industry

  • Internal Communications – Use internal communications channels in the US and, where relevant, at a global level to raise awareness of BD initiatives and opportunities. Coordinate the production, editing and mailing of internal newsletters

  • Branding – Ensure on and offline marketing collateral is compliant with visual identity guidelines, working in conjunction with the central Brand and Design teams

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of two years of experience, preferably in professional services environment

  • Consulting, corporate or law firm experience a plus

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Self-starter with exceptional relationship building and interpersonal skills

  • Proven organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities

  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities

  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel

  • An innovative problem solver and ability to deal with ambiguity
