Title: Coord Facility Services

POSITION CONCEPT: 
The Coord Facility Services is responsible for facilities project coordination for special projects as assigned. This position performs routine, and regular, inspections of all TECO properties and facilities to assess the condition of buildings, landscape, and general structures to inform proactive contract services, preventative maintenance, potential work orders, and safety mitigation efforts.  Assists in contracted services oversight and inspections for quality control purposes.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages projects and work orders as assigned.  Oversees contractors and scope to ensure contracted service work performed to expectations and standards.
  • Maintains an inspection & work plan as well as a plan-of-the-week for their responsibilities and projects. Communicates plan with relevant stakeholders as necessary and coordinates with Facilities Services to properly plan, execute, and monitor work being performed.
  • Manages and maintains checklists and inspection forms as part of their responsibilities and generates reports from documentation to inform supervisors and coordinators on condition of services and contract compliance with standards and expectations. 
  • Works with Facility Services Team to assist in preventative maintenance planning and to inform future projects and long-term facilities planning.
  • Prepares standard operating procedures and overall standards for services under contract and in the areas of their responsibilities.

 

EDUCATION:
Required: Valid High School Diploma or valid GED  
Preferred: AA or AS 

 

EXPERIENCE:
Required: 6 years of demonstrated experience leading activities in building maintenance, building construction and/or building systems. 2 years of demonstrated experience in contract management. Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
Preferred: Understand the concept of Tampa Electric’s financial/accounting systems.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Required: Knowledge of building maintenance and construction.  Direct knowledge of contract management and negotiations is required. Effective oral and written communication.  Perform diversified duties requiring frequent independent judgment or involving analysis in a specialized field.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work hours may exceed 40 hours per week and require work at night and on weekends. Some work is executed indoors, outdoors, and around hot and audible equipment. Some work may be performed in inclement weather including severe heat, cold and rainy conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical demands of this position may include, but not limited to the following: bending, kneeling and climbing.
