Job Summary
The Cook II prepares and cooks food based on recipes and prep lists, cleans kitchen equipment, and maintains quality standards.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
- At least 2 years of cooking experience required.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to follow instructions and maintain cleanliness.
- Knowledge of food preparation, equipment, and sanitation.
- Basic math skills for adjusting recipes.
- Proficiency in cooking techniques like grilling, frying, baking, etc.
- Ability to make the five mother sauces.
Job Duties
- Prepares food using recipes and adjusts portions as needed.
- Cleans and sanitizes kitchen equipment and areas.
- Ensures food quality and safety standards are met.
- Transports food between kitchen and service areas.
- Tests and develops new recipes, ensuring proper food rotation and labeling.
Professionalism
- Maintains a professional working relationship, follows department rules, and supports teamwork.
Physical Requirements
- Regular standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and repetitive motion.
- Requires good vision and communication skills.
Workplace Standards
- Complies with health, safety, and corporate policies, including HIPAA and infection control procedures. Must attend required training and pass competency tests.
