We have an exciting new opportunity for a Control Electronics Design Specialist. The Electronics Design Specialist provides expertise to deliver electronic and electrical designs for the entire development process. Conceptional design through detail design, prototypes through volume manufacture, initial integration through qualification of airworthy/certified.

As part of Electronics Design Specialist you will collaborate with a multidiscipline project team on the electrical infrastructure, perform engineering analysis, generate detail electronic designs, create engineering drawings/documents and partner with suppliers.

Key Accountabilities
- Providing technical oversight and direction in the design and development process for new product development
- Engage in technical, manufacturing and supply chain issues and opportunities to enable quick decision making
- Define the electronics test plans and test methods, review and approve the electronics design and test results
- Ensure quality of output through internal gate reviews and other appropriate processes
- Support design, analysis, and test of electronics propulsion systems and components to include requirements capture, architecture, schematic capture, design analysis and implementation of printed circuit boards.
- Lab testing and integration of complex electrical components, sensors, test equipment
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in electronics design, OR
- Master's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in electronics design, OR
- JD/PhD
- In order to be considered for this role, you must be a US Citizen
- 25% Travel between sites: Indianapolis and West Lafayette, IN as needed for work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong technical leadership, people management and project management skills
- Experience with control systems hardware design (analog and digital)
- Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), change management, and risk management processes
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques
- Experience with embedded electronics design in aerospace or other industries requiring functional safety applications is preferred
- Experience with schematic capture tools: Allegro-Cadence/Altium Designer
