Controller General Accounting Full Time Days

Summary

The Controller is responsible for the coordination of the activities of the Accounting Department including general accounting, accounts payable, budgeting and reimbursement. Responsible for accurate, timely reporting of financial and statistical information to senior management and corporate. Provide financial advice to the Management Team to achieve the overall institutional objectives. Responsible for the preservation of hospital assets. Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

• Informs the CFO as to the financial position of the facility and any significant accounting issues
• Coordinates the facility’s audits (both internal and external) and other special projects (cost reports, AHCA reporting, etc.)
• Provides timely capital budget requests with complete business justification
• Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental goals based on assessed needs and desired outcomes.
• Takes necessary actions to achieve goals
• Responsible for the consolidated financial and statistical information as reported in the Monthly Operating Report (MRO)
• Prepared on a timely and accurate basis.
• Oversees that monthly, quarterly and annual financial schedules required by Tenet Corporate are filed accurately and timely.
• Demonstrates effective management of the department to ensure that duties are performed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Conducts regular departmental meetings to keep staff informed of the service line, hospital and corporate matters.

Minimum Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

Minimum Experience

• Four years hospital or healthcare accounting experience.
• Supervisory experience.
