JOB PURPOSE

The job of Contracts Manager/Contracts Specialist was established for the purpose/s of performing duties associated with proactively managing existing and new Government-Wide Acquisition Contracts (ex: GSA Schedules), agency / client contracts (including blanket agreements and task orders), contract product offerings, and partner (vendor and subcontractor) contracts in accordance with corporate goals and objectives. The Contracts Manager is responsible for working / collaborating with the General Counsel and Janes Sales directors to support company’s Federal and government contracting in the US and globally and also support other legal contracting generally.

Role will be based out of Janes offices in Arlington, VA, and will report into the General Counsel (UK) and will be an integral part of the Janes Global Legal and Compliance Team. The role will involve providing day to day assistance to General Counsel to operate with maximum efficiency when providing legal and compliance related support. There will be an emphasis on assisting with compliance, corporate and governance matters.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AT JANES

  • Review, draft, advise on variety of contracts with US/Canadian/South American government customers, Commercial companies in the Americas, suppliers etc. as per the Janes Sales Playbook/precedence and acceptable standards and policies.
  • Manage and maintain compliance with Fedlink, GSA and other Govt contracting Schedules and portals.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret and evaluate contract terms and conditions, assessing risks to the company and communicate findings to Sales management that is aligned with wider legal team approach.
  • Ensure the organization’s internal contract documents/repository are well maintained
  • Provide advice and guidance to the different teams relating to contract generation and review
  • Provide support and advice on new potential businesses opportunities being mindful of legal aspects including intellectual property, data privacy etc.
  • Assisting on compliance processes and ensuring a company complies with its regulatory requirements and internal policies including due diligence screening
  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal guidelines and internal policies
  • Evaluate the efficiency of controls, monitor and improve compliance processes and policies continuously
  • Willingness to travel

THE IDEAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE FOR THIS ROLE ARE

  • Qualified lawyer/or experienced contracts manager from any US states with ability to demonstrate a solid legal interpretation and drafting skills
  • Previous demonstrable experience in federal/government contracting (SAM) and regulatory compliance experience required..
  • Preferable experience working in a fast-paced Data business or Technology business in one of more of key areas of compliance, regulatory, federal contracting and good understanding of Intellectual Property and data privacy.
  • Comfortable working as part of a multidimensional team and a team player
  • Exemplify a strong attention to detail and rolling our processes and policies
  • Previous experience working within Legal and compliance team is strongly preferred
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures with conformance to the prescribed style and format.
  • Detail oriented – attention to detail is crucial in this role.
  • Capable of professionally managing confidential information
  • Hybrid working with at least 2-3 days based in the office, located in Rosslyn, Virginia.
