Collins Aerospace is seeking a self-motivated Contracts Specialist, Government Programs, ideally with experience in FAR/DFARS contracts to support the Collins Aerospace Aerostructures Military Contracts group, based in Jacksonville, FL. This is an on-site position, may be eligible for relocation.
The Contracts Specialist will be responsible for managing contracts for the design and production of various ship and submarine components. You will gain experience in providing business advise to your assigned value stream leadership team and represent the organization in contract matters with the customer. You may support proposal development, review terms and conditions, and administer contracts to closeout. This position is working onsite and located at our facility on Busch Drive in Jacksonville FL.
Primary Responsibilities: What you will do:
- You will partner with a team of contracts professionals in expanding Govt contracts knowledge and overall business acumen to improve the financial position of the business.
- You will analyze and negotiate statements of work, terms and conditions, data requirements, etc. to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- You will manage existing contracts to ensure compliance to contract terms, identify and seek adjustment for out-of-scope changes and to mitigate risk.
- You will operate collaboratively within the value stream leadership team of program managers, engineers, finance, supply chain, and operations to support program management and strategy and execution reviews to drive customer focused solutions.
- You will provide flow down and guidance to the program team on the requirements and terms within the contract.
- You must be able to travel 10% domestically.
Basic Required Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 4 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
- Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.
