MS Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) Technology is the global technology department responsible for the design, development, delivery and support of the technical solutions behind the products and services used by the Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM) business. The department is comprised of 10 organizations: Sales, Banking & Corporate-Client Technology, Investment Products & Markets Technology, Client Reporting, Core Processing, Private and International Wealth Management Technology, Technology Integration Office, Enterprise Infrastructure & Production Management, Capital Markets Application & Data Services, Deployment Planning & Release Management, and the Chief Operating Office.

Department Profile

Wealth Managements Core Platform Services group provides horizontal services to all Wealth management Development Teams. Our mission is to provide stable and scalable infrastructure and technology solutions for entire Wealth Management. We serve as a centralized interface through which Wealth Management teams can obtain infrastructure solutions and project support by working closely with application owners throughout the SDLC process to ensure that established products/services are leveraged, and new requirements are fulfilled.

What you'll be doing in the role:

  • Analyze performance bottlenecks and ability to articulate the issues in distributed environment
  • In depth experience in scripting and designing load scenarios using Load Runner, JMeter
  • Proven experience in performance testing and analysis of web, mobile apps, Microservices and API components
  • Ability to build load clients to load test streaming functionalities
  • Experience in supporting systems management, monitoring, and deployment technologies such as Jenkins, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, and AWS cloud automation
  • Working experience with Java, Python, shell scripting, and PERL
  • Familiarity with dev tools in Browser technologies like Chromium or safari
  • In-depth understanding of Linux, tools, libraries and open-source development
  • Knowledge of systems automation technologies such as Bash scripting, Python, and PowerShell
  • Experience with java memory analysis, heap dumps and thread dumps
  • Working experience with test environment setup and configuration management
  • Independent & self-motivated to drive the entire performance testing exercise

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Must have detailed knowledge of Load Runner against web-based and Java based applications
  • Minimum 5 years working in a performance engineering and analysis
  • Minimum 5 years of UNIX/Linux (preferably) working experience with shell scripting, PERL
  • Minimum 5 years of SQL queries on Sybase and/or Oracle or MySQL database and debugging
  • Minimum 5 years of exposure to Apache, Tomcat and Excel as a performance reporting tool
  • Working experience in distributes systems exposed to micro services, KFKA, Kubernetes, docker
  • Knowledge of backend order management and trade processing is a plus
  • Knowledge of Insure++ and Valgrind and Keynotes and Sitescopes
  • Must be able to work in team oriented environment and multitask


Desired skills

  • Should have 2 years of experience on Application support platform.
  • Devops experience (Containers, cloud)
  • System administration experience (Linux) to provide day to day Operational support for UNIX and Linux IT infrastructure
  • Performance Engineering (min testing knowledge and more towards capacity)
  • Good understanding of configurations and deployments.
  • GIT/SVN experience is a must.
  • Good knowledge of any load testing tools like JMeter/Storm Runner or other performance testing tools, API testing experience and monitoring tools.
  • Scripting knowledge (bash/python/Nodejs)
