About the role
Ziegler CAT has an opening for a Construction Technology Sales Specialist. This position will act as the SITECH Northland Construction Technology Sales Specialist interacting with construction (contractor based) customers to determine their technology needs and to proactively pursue Technology Sales within the dealership territory. Technology sales include both Trimble and Caterpillar construction related products and other products/services as new vendors/OEM’s are brought onboard. Position based out of the Minneapolis.
Responsibilities:
- Provides quotations to the customer detailing Ziegler and SITECH Northland’s deliverables
- Utilizes Trimble Store to configure appropriate hardware solutions and subsequent Bills Of Material
- Coordinates demonstrations at customer sites to actively promote Construction Technology capabilities to potential buyers
- Forecasts sales volumes for Caterpillar and Trimble Construction Technology components to be ordered by Ziegler Sales Administrator and offers advice on appropriate inventory levels
- Compile and circulate competitive sales information to sales staff
- Works with Ziegler’s General Line Territory Managers to proactively anticipate and demonstrate Construction Technology capabilities as required by Ziegler customers (in all markets)
- Works jointly with and in conjunction with SITECH Northland’s Software Sales Specialist and Construction Technology Product Specialist to ensure all of the customer’s questions have been answered
- Works with Ziegler Sales Administrator to provide inventory levels for commonly used solutions, provide information to process technology orders, provide information to invoice customers on a timely basis
- Provides input for marketing and advertising campaigns for the year
- Works in a cooperative manner with TM’s, the technology team and management personnel
- Able to explain complex concepts and solutions to customers
- Provides classroom training and speaking to support Ziegler University of Position Technologies courses
- Provides technical and business input to the SITECH General manager on topics related to OEM technology capabilities, OEM competition, field developments and business trends
- Represents Ziegler, Caterpillar, and Trimble Construction Technology products as they are sold to Ziegler’s traditional contractor market and to develop new applications
- Meets with customers to determine their Construction Technology product needs
- Demonstrates technology equipment to the customer via coordinated machine and equipment demonstrations
- Trains customers on the operation of Construction Technology related equipment
- Resolves customer problems in a timely manner through direct customer contact or through Ziegler Technology Support personnel
- Hosts and facilitates customer feedback (VOC) to provide Ziegler, Caterpillar, and Trimble with needed product improvement suggestions
- Networks with technical colleges and state agencies to actively promote Construction Technology products at the point(s) of exposure
- Attends/represents SITECH Northland at Trimble Dimensions and ConExpo
Qualifications:
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Technology oriented with an understanding how technology is used in the construction industry
- Knowledge of and experience with the following Construction Technology Products: Caterpillar AccuGrade GPS/Laser based Products, Trimble Products, interfaces, and Cellular Modems
- Ability to learn heavy equipment operation for the purpose of demonstration and training
- Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) and customer service oriented
- Proficient use of computer, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft D365, and Trimble web based applications
- Proficient use of Ipad and Iphone applications related to construction technology industry
- Clean driving record

Travel:
- Up to 50% local/regional travel
