About Construction Management - AECOM Tishman
Since 1898, AECOM Tishman has managed the construction of some of the world’s most iconic buildings. We employ a diversified preconstruction and construction management staff of structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineers; architects; technology specialists; scheduling and cost control personnel; and construction estimators and accountants. We provide expert consultation and guidance in all phases of a building project, from master-planning, preconstruction options evaluation and decision-making, to design review, estimating, and scheduling, through procurement, construction and occupancy. AECOM Tishman’s staff manages all consultants and contractors on a project, representing client interests throughout the project cycle. In total, AECOM Tishman has built more than 900 million square feet – including the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, One World Trade Center in New York.
Job Description
AECOM/Tishman has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Project Accountant to support our ongoing construction projects at JFK Airport in Queens, NY.
- Has advanced knowledge of project accounting, providing support for complex and/or large-scale projects.
- Under general direction, makes recommendations for project improvement based on review of financial results and knowledge of project(s).
- Researches general ledger account reconciliations, journal entry preparation and A/R cash adjustments.
- Works with customers or clients to gather and provide information.
- Reviews contracts for additional service opportunities and assist in converting project proposal into project budget.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirement:
- BA/BS and 6 years of relevant accounting experience or AA/AS and 8 years of relevant experience or HSD/GED and 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalent of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
- 5 years of accounting experience within the construction industry.
- Experience in all aspects of accounting (close, GL, reconciliation, etc).
- Experience with construction documentation (change orders, subcontractor invoicing, payment processing, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Procore experience.
- Offered rate of compensation New York City will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $76,329.30-$141,209.21/annually.
