Purpose

This position will develop and lead the execution of The University of Texas at Austin’s Procurement and Payment Services construction and professional services procurement management strategies. The incumbent will have familiarity with trades market dynamics, building materials, processes, mechanical systems and components and knowledge of industry regulations required for various campus construction projects. This position will facilitate the adoption of best practices of contract language, the improvement of existing contracts, as well as drive a construction procurement transformation to improve procurement service levels. This may include shared opportunities with other universities as deemed in the best interests of The University of Texas at Austin.

The Construction Procurement Program Manager will interface with leadership and partner with key stakeholders to understand and align business strategy, market dynamics, supplier capabilities, and change management strategies to establish a robust program management of campus construction procurement engagements across the university.

Success in this position will be dependent upon facilitating collaborative client department relationships, maintaining subject matter expertise in the assigned category, managing university-wide contracts and supplier relations, and meeting Procurement and Payment Services’ annual department and category goals. The incumbent will advise and provide support on minor construction projects supporting university departments including but not limited to Facilities, Utilities, Athletics, Housing and Dining and other areas as a subject matter expert.
