POSITION PURPOSEThe Community Development Specialist's principal role is the creation of robust, productive, and impactful relationships with community partners, educational organizations, and organizations whose businesses align with SAFE’s strategic objectives. This position adds value to these partnerships by being an expert in the Financial Education space, and is tasked with the development, design, and maintenance of SAFE’s Financial Education content. This role is also expected to identify, create, and sustain long lasting partnerships with individuals within the community to deepen key partner relationships. Additionally, this role is required to deliver on SAFE’s mission to help members improve their financial well-being, promote the credit union movement, and increase SAFE’s financial education footprint in the communities we serve. The Community Development Specialist is expected to consistently demonstrate and utilize effective communication skills, teaching strategies, and educational best practices to help develop and implement financial wellness programs. This role will drive expansion and retention through outbound events, networking opportunities, and strong relationship building. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

Proactively seek out new partnership opportunities, and maintain existing relationships through consistent communication, program support, and physical attendance at strategically relevant events.
Identify and facilitate Financial Education workshops through various methods for our key stakeholders: Our members, SAFE Employees, and the communities that SAFE Credit Union serves.
Independently create new opportunities to explore membership expansion opportunities, including the delivery of Financial Education workshop series and programming.
Develop, design, write, test, and evaluate financial wellness educational program content, webinars, and videos that enables SAFE to reach and improve current and prospective member’s financial well-being.
Support community partners by also providing assistance with tabling events and workplace financial wellness initiatives.
Independently work towards creating a continuously expanding and robust network of community contacts to maximize available resources, function as a connector between parties, and stay connected with the community at multiple levels.
Continuously analyze and evaluate all program elements, content, and relationships to determine where improvements can be made, and independently make the necessary enhancements.
