About the role
The Commodity Value Optimization Manager job responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Manage Full Value Optimization responsibilities for all Direct Material Commodity areas within Serial Life
- Coordination responsibility for any cost impact as a result of Purchasing Performance or Powertrain specific reduction or over-recovery
- Ownership of all supplier value optimization across full NA scope
- Close coordination with ongoing Program actions to drive efficiencies and optimization of Serial Life production
- Advanced understanding of supplier input into cost reduction activities
- Working knowledge of program critical parameters into supplier selection process and management
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university or a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Economics or related field from an AACSB accredited program
- Minimum 10 years of experience in purchasing or a related field
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong regional and global relationships
- Must be well organized, self-motivated, capable of managing conflict, and resourceful when managing complex assignments
- Must be comfortable and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Results oriented and ability to lead cross-functional and global teams in issue resolution
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to think and act strategically
- Strong communication skills required; must be comfortable interfacing with all levels of management
- Customer focus and Strong knowledge of business processes across group purchasing
- Ability to lead Program Buyers
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA
- Program Management Certification
