Clean Harbors is looking for a Commercial Service Writer to sit in Deer Park, TX. The Commercial Service Writer is responsible to ensure that all work performed for third parties is consistent with company and DOT standards. Responsible for assisting with the coordination of maintenance activities through day to day interaction with various teams for service requests handed in and maintenance records received. Drives improvement in the value offering through increased quality service while constantly seeking ways of obtaining efficiencies.

Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
Responsible for assisting with the coordination of tank cleaning, inspections and maintenance activities through day to day interaction with external customers, inspectors and mechanics, service requests handed in and maintenance records received.
Maintain customer rapport by explaining expected return of vehicle; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns. Maintain professionalism to handle external customer requests and/or complaints.
Ascertain problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems.
Work closely with the Lead TDG Tank Inspector and mechanics and external customers.
Assist in meeting budgets and forecasts by maintaining records and providing activity reports as required.
Work with Safety Compliance to coordinate vehicle maintenance according to preventative maintenance programs, and inspection requirements.
Open and check work orders for accuracy and that they are appropriate for the work performed. Close off all work orders when completed.
Be responsible for input of work orders into the computer and maintain the vehicle files in an efficient and timely manner.
Follow up on open Purchase Orders and assist the Admin staff at the shop when needed.
Keep up to date the Safety Recalls, Warranty Bulletins and Service information bulletins so that they are completed in a timely manner.
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
May be assigned additional duties not listed above based on business needs
Associate Degree required: Bachelor preferred;
3 to 5 experience with writing maintenance service/repair orders;
Excellent communication (written/verbal) skills
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to communicate effectively with difficult customers
Ability to work in a team as well as independently with little supervision
Knowledge of the Tank Wash procedures, TDG Tank Inspections and DOT Compliance
