About the role
The Commercial Relationship Associate performs various pre-loan activities for the purpose of bidding on loan transactions and loan set-up administration in support of commercial relationship officers and managers. Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform pre-screen underwriting and deal structuring to support loan bids
- Provide support to the origination team to achieve loan production targets
- Review third party reports, cash flow analysis, credit strength, property characteristics and all other information pertinent to the credit decision process on each application
- Complete financial and repayment analysis with a focus on cash flow, liquidity, and leverage analysis
- Develop and manage strong working relationships with brokers and other counterparties
- Partner with borrowers, lenders, legal counsel, commercial loan officers, and servicing regarding commercial real estate finance and loan administration
- Create and distribute loan production reports, presenting to leadership as required
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration is preferred
- Minimum one year experience in an analyst role supporting commercial and business lending function, including experience evaluating and analyzing complex tax returns
- Demonstrated flexibility to ever-changing business needs; with a strong track record to meet deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously to manage time effectively and prioritize work appropriately to meet deadlines
- Strong business communication skills; able to write/speak clearly and professionally for a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to deliver effective stakeholder presentations to both peer and executive level audiences
- Strong analytical, problem solving and strategic thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and professionally handle sensitive documents
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
