The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR) is looking for a driver with a Class A Commercial driver’s license to fill the Project Manager position. This position instructs inmate students in all requirements leading to earning a Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL). This includes recruiting inmate student cohorts at regular intervals and peer mentors. Provides direct instruction as needed and coordinates the inmate peer mentor instructors to ensure the most effective engagement of the inmate students. Coordinates all needed preparatory actions including but not limited to checking criminal history, Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) license status, and coordinates needed medical exams, court project communications and all exams.

Job Duties:

- Supervises inmate students and peer mentors for in-class instruction for Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), theory classes and road range instruction
- Coordinates program preparation and maintenance such as Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) license checks, birth certificates, prior criminal history checks, court project communication for inmates without valid licenses, and scheduling and coordinating medical exams
- Coordinates program recruitment to ensure inmates are eligible for the program and each class cohort is filled
- Schedules CLP exams with staff proctors, conducts theory exams, coordinates CDL driving exams with MVD, enters exam results data in the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Association (FSCMA) database, and other related program requirement
- Participates in internal and external meetings, seminars, workshops, and initiatives to further Division and Department goals and activities and to promote the CDL program
- Drives on State business
- Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
