Job Description
In this role, the ideal candidate will participate in the design, development, and deployment of security frameworks involving PKI, Blockchain, Secure Elements, and Cryptographic Access Tokens on embedded devices. The candidate will also collaborate with other developers within Comcast and the industry to understand user requirements and desired features.
The candidate must be able to quickly pick up new languages and technologies, be a strong teammate, and rapidly adapt to changing business and customer demands. Innovation is a significant aspect of the role, as well as mentoring/coaching junior members of the technical staff.
Designs and implements new software and web applications, supports applications under development, and customizes current applications. Develops a software update process for existing applications and assists in the roll-out of software releases.
Provides technical leadership throughout the design process and mentorship regarding practices, procedures, and techniques. Serves as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers.
Collaborates with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications meet specifications and technical requirements.
Demonstrates expertise in knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, and skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's and/or Master's in Computer Science/Information Technology
5+ years of professional experience in crafting embedded software applications
Shown experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems
Proven C/C++ and Java programming skills and a good understanding of operating system fundamentals
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles
Experience with Linux kernel and device driver development and deployment
Background in Yocto, PKI, x509 v3, and embedded security
Knowledge of Cryptography Extensions, OpenSSL, EmbedTLS, and Bouncy Castle libraries Knowledge in encryption technologies and protocols
Familiarity with source control systems (GitHub, Gerrit)
Proficiency in Continuous Integration and Deployment tools (Jenkins, Concourse)
Deep understanding of the HTTP/S protocol
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
A strong passion for learning and adapting to new technologies
Critical thinking and independent problem-solving abilities
Professional collaboration in multi-company open-source industry projects
